Last year we had a lot of interruptions to our school year, added a new baby, moved across the country, house hunting, and many more things could go on this list....
Our school year was dragged out forever.... but we are finally done, and just in time to start again.
Goals for the year?
1. Let the kids be in control of their own advancement.
2. Be kind
3. Enjoy the year
4. stay on task, schedule
New things that we are doing this year, the kids are having 20 minute time limits, they will be given a subject and a timer for 20 minutes, when the timer goes off they are done with the subject and I am going to say little to nothing about their progress unless they do a fantastic job, in which case I will not limit my excitement.
Also this year we are not doing the same subjects every single day, we are doing a bunch of subjects and not all of them will be done every day, which means my plate is going to be full keeping everyone doing the right thing at the right time, but also we should be having more fun everyday and learning plenty of cool things.
Wish us luck, today is the day, we start 5th grade, 3rd grade and Kindergarten 2.0 today.
